In 2019, only 40% of NZ¿s total primary energy is from renewable energy sources. Approximately 80% of grid power comes from renewable energy, primarily hydropower and geothermal power, plus wind and solar, but we have a goal to generate 90% of our electricity needs from renewables by 2025.
